This past Saturday, the Division 1 Mystics lost a tough battle against NYAC at Pine Banks, while the Division 2 Mystic Barbarians were able to muster out a come from behind overtime victory on the road against Worcester!

Mystic D2 Barbarians Stay Undefeated
The Mystic D2 side started Saturday off with a strong showing against Worcester, the only other unbeaten team in D2. The Mystics managed the game well and came away with a convincing 22-5 victory. The Mystics now have a more comfortable lead atop the D2 table as they go into a bye week. The Mystics will be back in action against Amoskeag on the road on October 31st before returning home on November 7th to close out the season against South Shore.
Barbarians win first playoff and D1 wins big
MALDEN, MA — Saturday saw the Mystics in fine form for their home opener. The Mystic Barbarians beat Worcester 36 – 29 to move into the next round of playoffs, where they will be taking on New Haven in the national round of 32. The D1 side took advantage of the great weather and played some great rugby to put up a convincing 103 – 10 win over Amoskeag.
Mystics Blank Worcester in Week 2
PINE BANKS – In Week 2 of the regular season, Mystic River took the field against Worcester in a match that could only be called “one-sided”. The Mystics completely dominated the Worcester scrum and the Mystic back line was able to penetrate often. Eleven tries were scored in the shutout victory, including two from veteran hooker Jim Calmas and another from Dimitri Efthimiou, his third of the season. Mystic flyhalf Derrick Roma slotted seven conversions to add to the final 69-0 win.
The Second XV were no less impressive as they took it to Worcester and allowed only one converted try for a 43-7 win.
