Last Saturday, the Mystics hosted New York Athletic Club at Pine Banks Park in a matchup between the last two USA D1 National Champions. The match lived up to its billing as a hard-fought contest between two elite teams, but the Mystics lost a nail-biter of a match by a score of 22-27.

Mystics fall short against NYAC in Final Four
After a great comeback to beat the Kansas City Blues 25-24 in the Elite Eight, the Mystics knew they had their work cut out for them against NYAC. NYAC won their Elite Eight match comfortably, beating the Potomac Exiles 50-19, so the Mystics knew they would be coming up against fresh opponents with extra gas in the tank.
NYAC Pull Away to Big Win
PELHAM, NY – The Mystics didn’t play their best rugby against NYAC, but were very much in the game for the first 60 minutes or so, despite playing into a very strong wind for the first forty minutes. Unfortunately, the game opened up in the second half, and NYAC pulled away to a scoreline that didn’t quite represent all of the match.
