This past Saturday at Pine Banks Park, Mystic River Rugby Club came away with two lopsided victories. The first game of the day was between Mystic’s Division 2 Barbarians and Amoskeag RFC in a NERFU league match. The Barbarians came away victorious, winning the game 73-24. After the victory, Mystic River’s Division 1 side hosted its first ever ARP match at Pine Banks and shut out Boston RFC, 86-0.

Mystic D2 crushes Amoskeag and stays undefeated
The Mystic Barbarians retained top spot in the D2 league standings with a big 47-17 win on the road over second-placed Amoskeag. The Mystics came away with a big win, but had to dig deep to seal the win.
Barbarians win first playoff and D1 wins big
MALDEN, MA — Saturday saw the Mystics in fine form for their home opener. The Mystic Barbarians beat Worcester 36 – 29 to move into the next round of playoffs, where they will be taking on New Haven in the national round of 32. The D1 side took advantage of the great weather and played some great rugby to put up a convincing 103 – 10 win over Amoskeag.
Mystic River Moves to 2-0
PEMBROKE, NH – Mystic River made the most of Amoskeag’s mistakes to walk away with a convincing 48-10 win. The boys started off slowly and let Amoskeag take advantage of the wind to play the first ten minutes of the game in Mystic territory. Amoskeag scored first with a penalty kick, before the Mystics scored off a scrum to move ahead 7-3. Amoskeag kept up the pressure with their pack and moved down the pitch to score a converted try and regain the lead. The Mystics started to find their feet, and some quick ball resulted in three tries from the Mystic back three, leaving the Mystics 24-10 ahead at half time.
