Mystics Lose Heartbreaker to Old Blue in Cup QF
DENVER, CO – The Mystics fought for all their worth in the National 7s Quarterfinal last night, but went down 17-19 to Old Blue. The Mystics held a 12-7 lead at the half, but the only difference between the two sides was their style of play – the Mystics were spreading the ball wide in search of gaps, while Old Blue were bulling it up the middle once they got within striking range. The result was that the Mystics couldn’t convert two of their tries from out wide, and lost the lead when Old Blue scored under the posts with seconds left to play. The Mystics managed to bring the ball back to midfield before conceding a penalty, allowing Old Blue to kick the ball Ito touch and claim their spot in the semis.
The Mystics will be back in action at 12:40pm EDT today, as they take on last year’s champions, the Seattle Saracens, in the Plate semifinal on Field 4. The match will be streamed online – let’s get behind the Mystics as they aim to close out strong!

Support the Mystic 7s at Nationals
MALDEN, MA – For the second straight year, the Mystic 7s squad played through some of the toughest 7s competition in the country en route to the 7s National Championships in Denver, CO over the weekend of August 13-14.
The Monsters from Malden are looking to improve on their top 3 finish in the 2015 tournament, and see if we can claim a 15s and 7s double for the Mystics. As always, competing on the road comes at a high cost, especially in the wake of our Championship-winning trip to Colorado in June. We are hoping that all members of Mystic Nation can contribute some small amount of money towards the trip.
