Mystic U17 and U19 Go Undefeated at Newport 7s
NEWPORT, RI – The Mystic U17 and U19 teams brought home two trophies after both teams went unbeaten at the Newport 7s on Sunday. The boys beat teams from the Wolfhounds, Boston and Berkshire en route to claiming their tournament victories, and set the tone for what should be a great summer of rugby. Additional congratulations are also in order for Brian Barrett and Kevin Batting, who were both awarded tournament MVP honors!

Mystic Collegiate Selects Fall Short in Montreal
MONTREAL, QC – The Mystic Collegiate Selects came out firing in the first half, and used the width of the field to move the ball and keep the Voyageurs defense off balance. Mystics put two tries on the board early on. The first try came off a nice break on the sideline by Dave Caputo, and Dylan Amore converted to give the Mystics a 7-0 lead. The Mystics followed that up with a weak side pick from scrumhalf Mike Weinstein, giving them a 12-0 lead.
Mystic River Rugby Club Wins USA Rugby D1 National Championship

MALDEN, MA – Mystic River Rugby Club, hailing from Pine Banks Park in Malden, MA, claimed the 2016 USA Rugby Division 1 National Championship, the club’s first ever national title in its 42 year history. The team beat the Austin Blacks of Austin, TX by a score of 45-33 at Infinity Park in Glendale, CO on Saturday evening.
