Wolfhounds Take Briar Cup By a Whisker
MALDEN, MA – Saturday was a glorious late Fall day, and the re-organized schedule of play allowed the Old Boys and B side to start the day off with two Mystic wins. Mystic Nation’s spirits were riding high coming into the A side match, but the A’s couldn’t quite do enough to win this year’s Briar Cup, losing by two points to the Wolfhounds in a match that could have been won by either side.
Mystic River Struggles Against Old Blue
MALDEN, MA – The Mystics made too many mistakes this Saturday in their match against Old Blue and fell to 2-5 for the season after a disappointing 5-39 loss. The Mystics really struggled in the scrums, losing a number of balls against the head, and the backs lacked penetration, making it very difficult to build a platform to attack from.
NYAC Pull Away to Big Win
PELHAM, NY – The Mystics didn’t play their best rugby against NYAC, but were very much in the game for the first 60 minutes or so, despite playing into a very strong wind for the first forty minutes. Unfortunately, the game opened up in the second half, and NYAC pulled away to a scoreline that didn’t quite represent all of the match.
