Mystics claim two big victories

AMESBURY, MA – Despite Pine Banks being closed due to resurfacing, the Mystic D1 and D2 sides put on huge performances in their games this past Saturday as they solidified their positions in the playoffs. The Mystic Barbarians couldn’t have ended their undefeated season on a more emphatic note with their victory over Burlington, while the D1 side clinched their berth in the Elite 8 with their defeat of Old Blue.

Mystics Dominate at Four Leafs

NEW YORK, NY – Both Mystic sides went unbeaten on Saturday at the Four Leaf Fifteens, going a combined 6-0 to cap off a great start to the spring season. The boys will definitely be seeing stiffer competition as the playoffs draw closer, but it is always good to kick off the spring on the front foot. Congratulations to all for a great day of rugby!

Mystic D1 falls to Old Blue

The Mystics struggled in the first half on the road against Old Blue, and fell to an 18-3 deficit at the half on the back of two Old Blue tries. The Mystics turned things around in the second half, and came storming back to trail 24-20 on the back of tries from Chris Frazier and Chris O’Donnell. The Mystics just couldn’t close the gap any further in the last ten minutes, and the final score remained at 20-24 to Old Blue. The Mystics fall to 3-1 on the season, and now need to build towards the spring as that was the last match of the fall.

Mystic D1 Steamroll NYAC

mystic_vs_nyac_42_5The Mystic D1 squad came out with guns blazing on Saturday at Pine Banks against last year’s D1 champions, NYAC. The Mystics lost a hard-fought match to NYAC in the national semi-finals, so were out for blood on their home turf.
