2011 Briar Cup This Saturday

PINE BANKS PARK, MA – This Saturday will be our Mystics Homecoming Day and will feature an Old Boys game at NOON as well as the first Annual Briar Cup Match against the undefeated Boston Irish Wolfhounds and a share of the NERFU lead at 1:00pm. Our own undefeated Killer B’s will boot up against the Hounds B side at 2:30pm.

After a short break, the Briar Cup trophy will be awarded to the winner later that evening by our sponsor, The Briar Group, at our post match drink-up at The Green Briar Pub in Brighton at 6:00pm. Come join us for a great day of rugby and later for the post match celebration that evening too.

Mystics Backs Outclass Amoskeag

PINE BANKS PARK, MA – The Mystics opened up Pine Banks with a 31-19 toppling of Amoskeag. Mystic dominated for most of the match with superior fitness and speed on the outside. The Mystic backline put in 5 tries including one from club captain Evin O’Driscoll, who made an impact on his return from injury. B-side also continued their winning ways with a 31-15 result. See everyone after the BYE week at Homecoming October 8 when the Mystics take on the Boston Irish Wolfhounds at Pine Banks in the 1st Annual Briar Cup.

Mystics Edge Hounds in Preseason Match

CANTON, MA – The Mystics got ready for the upcoming fall season by traveling to Canton to scrimmage crosstown rivals Boston Irish Wolfhounds. The boys in blue came out strong after a long summer layoff, with hard line running by Kayne Bubb and Nate Fox. Flyhalf, Dale du Preez, also had an outstanding performance including a try. Mystics saw other scores from Luke Schlotman, Sean Donohue and Matt Wilson to cap off a 22-17 victory. The Mystics will be taking on South Shore next Saturday at 1pm in Weymouth to kick off the start of the regular season. Look forward to seeing you all there and GO BLUE!

Mystics Selected to Face Dungannon

MILTON, MA – Four members of the Mystic River Rugby Club have been invited to represent New England on the newly resurrected Boston Barbarians rugby team.

The invited players are Chris O’Donnell, Chris Nolan, Adnan Kawuma and Kayne Bubb.

The Barbarians will take on the All Irish League Champions Dungannon RFC at Milton High School tonight at 6:30PM.

Tickets will be $5 at the gate and all of Mystic Nation is encouraged to attend and support both our players and the Barbarians side. Post match will be at The Harp!
